A parish-based group of Catholic laypersons interested in helping those most in need become self-sufficient by meeting their basic needs such as food, utilities, and rent. We provide financial or in-kind assistance, referrals to other resources, our support and prayer, and help them forward through education and personal development. Meetings are held on the 4th Saturday of each month at 10:00 am, OLIH Room 9.
Some of the funds provided are raised through sales at the St. Vincent de Paul four thrift stores:
- 1426 6th Avenue, Des Moines
- 520 Army Post Road, Des Moines
- 801 73rd St., Windsor Heights,
- 700 N. Ankeny Blvd in Ankeny.
Donations of clean, gently used goods, food, and personal care items may be dropped of at any of the thrift stores.
